Kevin Durant reacts to Charles Barkley's criticism of him from '60 Minutes' interview

Charles Barkley has been very blunt in sharing his opinions on Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant in recent years. The latest example came in an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired on Sunday evening. Barkley said that Durant is a "great player," but also said that he believes K.D. is "part of that generation who thinks he can't be criticized." “He's very sensitive. Great player. He's part of that generation who thinks he can't be criticized,” Charles Barkley said of 13-time NBA All-Star star Kevin Durant. Durant has been quick to swipe back at Barkley’s commentary. https://t.co/dWM2HGhExi pic.twitter.com/JgO9WdDlpo — 60 Minutes (@60Minutes) March 27, 2023 Shortly after the interview aired, Durant took to Twitter to clap back at Barkley. Why luck seems destined to play a uniquely large role in NBA's wide-open title race

Luck. Pure, absolute, roll-those-dice luck . That's the dirty word floating around the NBA, where competitive players, proud general managers and hard-working scouts are bristling against the idea the league can be shaped by anything other than a talent-fueled meritocracy in which the best -- the best front offices, the best decision makers, the best players -- win because they earned it.  "There's certainly some luck that goes into it, but I like to think there's more skill," one top executive told CBS Sports. He's not alone. Competitive people like to feel in control of their destinies. It's uncomfortable, if you spend your life chasing greatness, to contemplate the possibility that much of your life's mission might just come down to chance.  But despite the obvious fact that talent, hard work and drive are key, this season is shaping up as one that will be uniquely forged by fo...

Rockets plan to pursue James Harden this summer if he declines player option, Sixers unconcerned, per report

It hasn't even been two full years since James Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers from the Brooklyn Nets following another tumultuous exit from a team, and there are already report s swirling about him leaving for another franchise. However, in this case it would be reconnecting with an old friend, as The Athletic's Sam Amick and Kelly Iko are report ing that Harden is "serious" about a possible return to the Houston Rockets, the organization with which he spent nine seasons. This report first surfaced in December, when ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski wrote that Harden was "considering" a return to Houston this summer. However, at the time it sounded like a faint interest, something that was just born out of Harden's well documented love for the city of Houston. Now, though, it appears it's reached the height of becoming a real possibility.  Per The Athletic:  "Houst...

Nets sign head coach Jacque Vaughn to contract extension through 2026-27 season

The Brooklyn Nets announced Tuesday morning that they are signing head coach Jacque Vaughn to a multi-year contract extension . The deal runs through the 2026-27 season , per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Since taking over for former head coach Steve Nash on Nov. 1, Vaughn has posted a 32-19 record, and has dealt with significant roster turnover during that time. When Vaughn first took the position, he was coach ing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and was leading a team that went on a 12- Game winning streak, which is tied for the longest of any team this season . However, a trade demand from Irving just days before the Feb. 9 trade deadline shook up the roster, which resulted in Irving landing with the Dallas Mavericks. Durant was next, getting sent to the Phoenix Suns. During all this, which also included dealing with the controversy that surrounded Irving when he shared a film on social media that had anti...

2023 NBA All-Star Game dubbed 'worst basketball game ever played' by Team LeBron coach Michael Malone

G League call-up Mac McClung may have "saved" the NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night, but now it appears the NBA All-Star Game itself is in need of saving. Team Giannis defeated Team LeBron on Sunday, 184-175, in a game that more closely resembled a layup line or shooting practice than a competitive basketball game between the world's best athletes. The Elam Ending provided a bit of drama in the fourth quarter as Team LeBron attempted to erase a 19-point deficit, but the rest of the game lacked any sort of competitiveness or edge on the defensive end of the court.  Jayson Tatum won MVP honors after setting an All-Star Game record with 55 points, many of which came with little to no resistance. soarin' and slammin' pic.twitter.com/X2zBP4HWHw — Boston Celtics (@celtics) February 20, 2023 Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone, who helmed the losing Team LeBron o...
